چکیده

A new calibration method, applicable to multidetector telescopes, is presented. This method is based on the comparison between experimental data and the ones obtained from Monte-Carlo simulation. The method just needs a accurate knowledgment of the detector spectrum. To test the method, data obtained in GANIL accelerator, are used. Obtained results are presented and the method accuracy is concluded.

The AMANDA Neutrino Telescope

With an effective telescope area of order 10 m for TeV neutrinos, a threshold near ∼50 GeV and a pointing accuracy of 2.5 degrees per muon track, the AMANDA detector represents the first of a new generation of high energy neutrino telescopes, reaching a scale envisaged over 25 years ago. We describe early results on the calibration of natural deep ice as a particle detector as well as on AMANDA...

The GLAST large area telescope: Design, construction, test and calibration

The Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope (GLAST) is an international, multi-agency satellite mission with a vast and ambitious physics program in gamma-ray astronomy, particle astrophysics and cosmology. The Large Area Telescope (LAT) is the main instrument onboard GLAST and will detect high energy gamma rays with unprecedented resolution and sensitivity. After successful integration of the thr...

Fine Calibration of Detector Positions by Tracks in Helsinki Silicon Beam Telescope

An efficient algorithm is presented to perform fine calibration of detector positions in a beam telescope. Data from Helsinki Silicon Beam Telescope (SiBT) are used to demonstrate the performance of the algorithm. The intrinsic alignment precision obtained is better than 1 μm in location and about 20 μrad in orientation. The algorithm is described in detail and results on performance are presen...

HiRA detector dead layer determination at the NSCL

One of the primary ways to discover new information about nuclei is to detect the remnants of collisions between two different nuclei moving at high (relativistic) speeds. The HiRA (high resolution array) is capable of resolving the energies of these collision remnants to an accuracy of about 35 keV. To accurately determine the energies of these particles an accurate calibration is required. Ob...

Photon dosimetry based on selective data sampling for the NaI(TL) detector

Radiation detection is essential for determining of radiation dose. Depend on the detector and dosimetry method, detection process is performed in different levels. Pulse counting is the first level of detection. Typically, the output of a radiation detector for determining value of the radiation dose cannot be used directly. Through changing the response function or the readout detector, is tr...
